DFM (Design for Manufacturing)

Some designs look good on paper but can be incredibly difficult and/or expensive to manufacture. We’ll review your prototype so that it translates well to the factory floor.

Our engineers optimize your product design — from material selection to geometric complexity — to save you time and money. We also ensure it meets current standards — whether that means adapting to ISO’s minimum 3.5mm corner radius for cleanability, or choosing between USP 60, 61, or 62.

Meanwhile, our designers incorporate the latest trends in colors, textures, and artwork to create eye-catching packaging and a memorable unboxing experience.

Engineering Validation

We leave no stone unturned! Mango PD will rigorously test your design for flawless performance.

We don’t rely on simple pass/fail checks. We subject your product to a battery of tests that provide us with the data we need to make your product the best it can be.

We determine what control levers influence performance and assess the tradeoffs between them, putting your product through its paces to ensure every unit has a great fit, finish, and performance.

We supplement your product’s CAD package with three key documents:

Product Specification Document (PSD) – Outlines the product’s functional requirements, intended operation and performance metrics
Industrial Design Specification (IDS) – Specifies the product’s visual aspects and aesthetic details
Design Quality Test Plan (DQTP) – Establishes the testing procedures to verify that your product meets all defined specifications outlined in the PSD
